Obituary

Life began on July 25, 1943 for Ada Lee Johnson in Bolivar, Mississippi. She was born to Lucas and Ada Johnson, who preceded her in death.
Ada (Peaches) attended DooLittle Elementary School and Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, Illinois.


On March 23, 1964, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Marshall Kenneth Lawson, and to this union, three children were born: Sonya, Marsha, and Antajuan("Tony"). Ada was a devoted mother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly.


Ada worked several jobs throughout her life, and she loved being around family, friends, and barbecuing.


On December 9, 2023, the final page of Ada's life came to an end, when she passed away peacefully at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Illinois.
She lived a long and wonderful life.


She leaves to cherish her in memory her two daughters: Sonya (Julius) Reedy, Marsha Lawson, and one son, Cleo Winters.Her Husband, Marshall K. Lawson, and her son, Antajuan ("Tony") Lawson, preceded her in death.Grandchildren: Eric, Jalan, Malik, Tia, Jamel, Kayla, Kahlil, Morning, Jacari.Great-grandchildren: Lil Jalan, Bronyx, Daiah, and Brooklyn. One brother, Lucas Johnson of Minnesota, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation Saturday, from 11:30 am until time of service 12:30 pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester.
