Adrian
Amador
November 19, 1971 – July 17, 2023
Adrian Amador -- born on November 19, 1971 to Amando and Guadalupe Amador in Chicago, IL -- passed away on July 17, 2023.
He was the beloved 1st born son of Amando and the late Guadalupe; boisterous brother of Andres (Leonorilda), Araceli (Javier), and Amando II; doting uncle of Bianca, Monica, Adriana, and Lianna; playful great-uncle to Memphis; cheerful cousin; and fond friend to many.
Raised in Little Village, Adrian had a carefree childhood and forged friendships with people that lasted a lifetime. Animated, lively, never embarrassed or too shy to strike up a conversation or dance when everyone else was watching. He was able to make friends with people from all walks of life. He was known for being the life of the party. And like his mother, Guadalupe, he was always ready with a joke or a quick remark/comeback. He also inherited her ability to come up with various nicknames for friends and family.
An adoring uncle, he cared deeply for his nieces and great-nephew. Adrian looked after his eldest nieces during their childhood summers, he taught them how to fish, play cards and chess, how to throw a football and make it spiral. He never forgot a single birthday. And for Christmas, he got them gifts that often resulted in fun for the kids and a mess for their parents. He was a protective uncle who had patience and a good sense of humor that could easily diffuse any tantrum.
A person of faith and a good hearted man, Adrian knew there was a greater power at work. He never judged or looked down on others because he understood how easily misfortune could strike anyone.
He prayed for the well being of not only those he knew, but anyone in pain and suffering. Later in life, his farewells often included wishing others peace.
When Adrian cared for someone, there was no question. He'd call or text just to see how people were doing. If he found out someone was sick or injured, he would go out of his way to send that person food, medicine, and other home remedies that might help them recover. For birthdays and holidays he wished others nothing but love, happiness, and good health.
Guadalupe passed onto Adrian an appreciation for the beauty of God's green earth and all His creatures. Adrian enjoyed going on camping and fishing trips. He would spend time outside to take in fresh air and enjoy the warmth of the sun with music playing in the background. He would put out food for birds in the mornings and frequently helped find forever homes for cats and dogs in need.
His father, Amando, passed down to Adrian a love for the Chicago Cubs. Those who knew Adrian, knew him to be a devoted Cubs fan. He loved watching games at Wrigley Field, and if he couldn't make it to a game, he watched on tv. He shared this love for the Cubbies with everyone who knew him. And until his last day, Adrian had the Cubs W flag on display.
His words, personality, and kind heart will forever be remembered and he will forever be missed.
