Aldona M.
Kitt
September 4, 1922 – June 30, 2025
{When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above and that I would have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven's Gates I felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me and told me "Welcome Home." So, when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.}
It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aldona (nee Grig) Kitt. She was 102 years old. She lived a full, accomplished, wonderful, happy life. She was a fierce protector and advocate for her family. She was known by legions of people who loved her as 'Mom", "Momma", "Miss Alsona", "Grandma" or "Auntie Grandma". Aldona was the forever soulmate and wife of the late Peter. Devoted, loving mother of the late John and Patricia. She was born to her adoring parents; the late Agnes and the late John Grig. She was preceded in death by her older sister, the late Adela. She survive by her daughter. She is also survived by her devoted and beloved dog, Zeus.
Aldona was of completely sound mind and joking and singing until the very end. She loved her life and had a tremendous will to live. She put up an incredible fight to stay alive, but those two months short of 103 got her in the end. She touched countless lives.
Hopefully, you will smile when you think of her with a happy memory. Her death leaves a void in many, many hearts. Scores of people have said they will never, ever forget her.
If you wish to donate in her memory, please send it to her daughter. The donations will be used to purchase (wholesale) stuffed animals and snuggle blankets for children who have escaped a domestic violence situation with their mothers into a local safe-haven shelter in the area. If you would prefer, donations would be appreciated to: The Gary Senese Foundation, The Hinsdale Human Society, or your own favorite charity in her name. Any donation will be considered extremely kind and greatly appreciated.
Services and internment were private and have been held. Multiple memorials will be held in the coming months.
{The Whispering Wind: It's normal that you shed a tear when first I took my leave but know that I am happy here no need for you to grieve. The beauty that surrounds me would take your breath away. There're colors that I can't describe, the air's a sweet bouquet. Don't worry about the things unsaid you gave all there was to give. Don't lay your heart upon the past, just let our memories live. And though your earthly eyes can't see, believe that I am there. Whenever you feel the whispering wind flow gently through your hair. I'm there when fireflies light the dark, when candles are lit throughout the year. I'm there when you are sad and blue and when you need an ear. I'm always just a thought away our souls can never part. Connected for eternity forever in your heart.}
