Obituary

Allen Lee Atkins better known as "Bruh" was born on April 12,1955 in Delta City, Mississippi to Acey and Asrie Atkins.  Allen was relocated to Chicago in 1968 and attended Ulysses S. Grant grade school and then Richard T. Crane H.S.

Allen began working very early and started a lucrative career path at O'Hare international Airport. He later moved on to other employment avenues and spent 17 years at Bedford Transportation LLC where he eventually retired in 2021. He was a very hard worker and never missed a day of work.

Allen enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. He did not miss an opportunity to join in family picnics, events and even play all the crazy games. Allen's family was at the center of his heart. And he had a special bond with his daughter. He was always available to them whenever they called upon him.

Allen transitioned from this life on March 16, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Asrie and Acey Atkins. Along with siblings Acey Atkins Jr., Willie Mae Atkins, Roger L. Atkins and Martha Atkins (stillborn). Allen is survived by his daughter Kecha Wallace (Dionne). Two grandchildren, Jekar Smith and Dionne Wallace Jr. Two great grandchildren, Kayomi and Princeton. Allens surviving siblings are: Emma Shorter of Rockford IL, Alice McShan (his twin) of Chicago, IL and Janice Atkins Washington (Booker) of Clinton, MS along with a host of nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
