Andres Castillo Jr. was born in Elsa, Texas, on March 31, 1952. He lived most of his life in Chicago, Illinois, before retiring to Elsa, Texas, and later residing in San Antonio, Texas. He peacefully passed away on September 5, 2026, in Elsa, Texas, at the age of 74.

Andres was preceded in death by his father, Andres Castillo Sr.; his mother, Francisca Castillo; his brothers, Adolfo Castillo and Adam Castillo; and his sister, Aurora Castillo.

Andres is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Juanita (née Galvan) Castillo; his daughter, Vivian Galvan; his son-in-law, Benito Gomez; and his grandchildren, Benito Gomez Jr., Benjamin Gomez, Marissa Gomez, and Maliyah Gomez. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Castillo, Andrea Castillo, Anacelia Castillo, and Maria Antonia Castillo, along with many nieces and nephews.

Andres found great joy and passion in music, especially Tejano music. In his younger years, he was a talented musician and bass player. He was also the DJ at many family parties and gatherings, bringing family and friends together through music, dancing, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Andres was a hardworking and talented auto mechanic, known for his willingness to help others. He took pride in his work, enjoyed fixing things, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Andres was also a devoted sports fan who loved watching his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. Whether playing music, working on a vehicle, watching a game, or simply spending time with family, Andres found happiness in the things he loved most.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering or in pain. He will always be remembered for his love of family, passion for music, hardworking spirit, and sense of humor.

Andres, your music may have ended here on Earth, but it continues in Heaven. You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.

Visitation: Friday, September 25, 2026, from 3:00 PM–9:00 PM and Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory (located at the southwest corner of Mannheim & Roosevelt Roads, Hillside/Westchester).

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL
