Annie Young was born to the late William Young and Mattie Newell young, in Laurel, Mississippi on June 17 ^th , 1927. Annie had brothers that preceded her in death, Lee, Vernon, W.C. and Thomas. She united The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Annie worked at various jobs until she was hired at General Motors, where she worked until she  retired. Annie had no children of her own, but she was a "Mother" to many. She leaves to cherish her memories, One sister, Betty Jean (Sonny) Higgins; Three nephews, George (Cheryl) Higgins, Gregory (Yvette) Higgins and Fernando (Sylvia) Higgins; a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. Annie had 3 special step-children, Herbert (Stephanie) Hickson, Vertie (William) Kinnison, and Michael (Michelle) Hickson. Annie also had  a special cousin Patricia Russell; and a host of friends.

Visitation Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 10am to 1pm and Thursday from 9am until time of Service 10am, at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Interment Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park.  Funeral Info: 800-562-0082
