Anthony Mulata Frantilla, 91, of Broadview IL and most recently of Oak Park IL, passed peacefully on August 8, 2026.

He was born January 10, 1935 in Miagao, a province of Iloilo, Philippines in the Visayas.

In 1970 he immigrated to the US to attend Loyola University in Chicago where he would connect with his future wife Carmen Dolar.

After receiving his Masters in Education, he was set to return to the Philippines where there was a job waiting. Wanting to stay in the US, he took a job as a social worker and interpreter at Cook County Hospital's Trauma Unit and Emergency Room, where he worked for over 20 years.

The family stayed in an Oak Park apartment where their two eldest girls were born. They later moved to Broadview where they then stayed for 40 years and raised their five children.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy. His deep passion for God, family, music, sports, crossword puzzles and people will be remembered.

He is survived by Carmen Dolar Frantilla his wife of 52 years; his three daughters, Carol (Patrick Gallot) Frantilla of Brookfield, IL, Grace (Kelly) Khora of Skokie, IL, and Nicole (Michael Kaferly) Frantilla of Corvallis, OR; his two sons, Anthony (Thuy) Frantilla Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Andrew (Crystal) Frantilla of Anaheim, CA; and his six grandchildren Aedan, Evan, Isaac, Kira, Gabrielle and Eleanor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Salvacion Frantilla, and his brother Venancio Frantilla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held August 18, 2026 at 10:30 AM at his parish of over 40 years, St. Eulalia Church in Maywood IL. A procession to Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside will follow for the Rite of Committal. In lieu of a wake service, all are invited to a funeral luncheon immediately following the cemetery service, to share a meal and stories, and to rejoice in Anthony’s living legacy.
