Arthur F. Sereque, Jr.

October 8, 1935 – August 18, 2025

Arthur F. Sereque, Jr., of Downers Grove, IL, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 8, 1935, at Boston City Hospital, Art was a proud graduate of Hamden Hall, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur F. Sereque, Sr. & Anne (Kozik) Sereque, and his beloved little brother, Richard B. Sereque. Art is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Becker Sereque; his sisters, Joyce Tinsley-Sereque and Shirley Sereque; sister-in-law Linda Sereque; nieces Michelle Alles and Glendee (Furguson) Madden; and nephews Bill Alles and Gregg Furguson. He also leaves behind extended family and countless friends who were touched by his warmth, humor, and generosity.

A man of deep passions, Art was a lifelong lover of history and airplanes, and a proud member of numerous aviation groups. He was an avid BBQ enthusiast and a foodie—long before the term became popular. His love for animals was matched only by the love others had for him.
Art will be remembered for his infectious laugh, telling of the worst jokes, his kind heart, brilliant mind, and joyful spirit. He was truly beloved by all who knew him. He is greatly missed.

A service will be held by the family on September 21st, 2025 at Pilot Pete's @905 W Irving Park Rd, Schaumburg, IL from Noon-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a local animal shelter or aviation museum of your choice.
