Obituary

Barbara Eurby-Starks was born July 19, 1943, in Louise, MS to the late Melvin Eurby Sr. and Bertha Eurby. Barbara was the eighthof thirteen children, sevenof her siblings preceded her in death:Thelma Fountain, Catherine McGowan, Rosie Mae Smith, Ruthie Mae Blanson, Fred Eurby,Calrutha Eurby,Melvin Eurby Jr, and Earnestine Wolf.

Barbara accepted Christ at an early age at Holiday Chapel M.B. Church, in Louise, MS and later joined Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, in Chicago, IL. Barbara relocated to Chicago in 1962 where shemet the love of her life Climmie L Starks they married and raised seven children together, two of her children preceded her in death Jerome Eurby and Timmy Eurby

Barbara was born with a heart of a lion and unrelenting determination. She was a praying woman,alsoan avid writer; she documented many prayers and short stories in her journal over the years. Barbara had a passion for sewing, she worked from home as an accomplished seamstress and created beautiful clothing that people were proud to wear.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:39 pm, Barbaragained her wings and entered heaven the way she lived life with courage, dignity, and grace. Barbara would want us all to remember her smile and her kindness, she would want us to find comfort in knowing she is free from pain and home with our heavenly father.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: her dedicated husband Climmie L Starks, two daughters, Arva Whitelow (Ethan), Marilyn Eurby (Richard), three sons, Jeffrey Eurby (Sabrina), Bernard Eurby, Jeremy Eurby, one Godson, Terrence Jackson, three sisters, Bertha Dean (Melvin), Shirley Thurman, Beatrice Eurby; one brother Nathaniel Eurby (Judy); two brothers-in-law, Howard Starks (Eva Mae), Jimmie L Starks (Leela), ten grandchildren, Perryn, Terrell, James, Tiesha, Jeffrey Jr., Bernard Jr., Jamarr, Jayvon, Jada, Jayden; ten great grandchildren;a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.A special niece Magnolia Fountain who she enjoyed talking and laughing with on the phone, was not only her niece but her friend.
