Obituary

Betty Amicks was born on June 20, 1920, in Midnight, Mississippi, to the late Robert Brown and Eliza Bester. After the passing of Eliza, Robert later married Anniebell.

Betty was united in marriage to Floyd Amicks Sr., who preceded her in death. From their loving union came three sons: Herbert Amicks ( Nora Amicks deceased) and twins Floyd Jr Amicks ( Jennifer Amicks) and Boyd Johnson ( Aretha Johnson) — all of whom also preceded her in death.

A woman of strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith, Betty lived a life rooted in love for her family and community. She is survived by two cherished siblings — her baby sister Christine Thomas and brother Ernest Brown — who continue to carry on the rich legacy of their family.

Betty was also preceded in death by her beloved great-grandson Xavier Bynum and great-great-granddaughter Teigan Johnson, as well as her siblings: Priscilla, Ernestine, Rosie Mae, Kathleen, Daisy, Luerine, Vannie, Leon, Leola, and Julie.

She leaves behind a large and loving family: a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Her memory will also be treasured by a wide circle of devoted friends, caring neighbors, and all who were touched by her kindness and grace.

Betty's life was a testament to resilience, love, and faith. Though she has departed this life, her legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of all who knew her.
