Beverly J. (nee Steinberg) Sabel was born in Greendale, Wisconsin on May 9, 1933 to Michael W. Steinberg and Adele (nee Buelow) Steinberg, sister to Michael W. Steinberg Jr. who was born March 10, 1941 and proceeded her in death March 11, 1941. In 1955, she married Milton W. Sabel who proceeded her in death in August of 2022.   She was blessed with two children, Karen (Jim) Beke, and Michael (Diane) Sabel, and two granddaughters Nicole and Leann.

Beverly was a Registered Nurse licensed for 56 years.  She graduated in 1956 from a 4-year Registered Nursing diploma program from Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Later, she went back to school to earn her Bachelor's degree in Health Arts from St. Francis College in Joliet, Illinois.

During her career she worked in different nursing positions.  She began her nursing career in the hospital, she was a surgical nurse for many years, then worked in public health as a visiting nurse and later worked in different doctors' offices.

She enjoyed square dancing, sewing, knitting, painting, camping, playing cards, dominos and spending time with family and friends and especially being a mother and grandmother.

She was a devoted Christian and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus.

She will be missed by her family, many relatives and friends.

Visitation Wednesday, May 17 ^th , 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. A prayer service will take place at 6:15 by Pastor Thompson. The American Nurses Association, Nightingale Tribute to follow.

Lying-in-state  Thursday 8:30 a.m. until time of service 9:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 547 N. Main Street, Lombard, Il. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. 11:00 a.m.
