It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Heileman (nee Lockwald), who passed away on June 21st, 2026, at the age of 78.

Carol was born on February 2, 1948, in Oak Park, IL. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome.

She is survived by her daughter Jaime DiGiovanni, son in law Michael DiGiovanni, grandchildren Mia & Evan DiGiovanni, her brother Rick (Denise) Lockwald, sister in law Barb Walt, nieces Megen Lockwald & Cristy (Max) Knebel, nephew Matt (Alicia) Lockwald, and many other beloved family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Maureen Lockwald, Brother Robert Lockwald, Sister Ellen Lockwald, and niece Kelly Lockwald.

Carol worked at The Village of Westchester for 20 plus years, until her retirement in 2010. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed shopping, lunching with her friends, playing board games, and loved watching her favorite tv shows! Carol touched the lives of many through her compassion and unwavering support.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 7th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Hursen Funeral Home in Hillside. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
