Obituary

Casimir P. Serpetis, 103, passed away on July 6 at Loyola University Medical Center. He was born on September 16, 1917 to parents Casimir and Eleanor Serpetis in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn nee Gniady, daughter Sharon Berry, sisters Genevieve Rekus and Aldona Tuttle, brothers Daniel, Edward and Leonard Serpetis, niece Carol Bonelli and nephew Michael Tuttle. He is survived by his son Russell and grandson Owen, niece Darlene Caliendo and nephew Alan Rekus and niece Carol's four children and three grandchildren. He was a proud veteran of WWII, serving four years in the 33rd Div., U.S. Army. He was employed as a factory machinist all his life and was a devoted parishioner of St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Maywood, IL. His favorite pastimes were fishing and a fan of all Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Blackhawks.

A visitation will be held Sunday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Prayers Monday 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Eulalia Catholic Church, 1851 S. 9th Ave, Maywood, mass 10:00 a.m. After mass, procession follows to St. Casimir Cemetery, 111th Street at Pulaski Road.
