Cruz Gonzalez-Aguirre, age 47, of Mundelein, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on March 4, 1978, Cruz was the beloved husband of Elva Hernandez; a loving father to Alexandra, Anthony, and Isabella; and a cherished stepfather to Juan Miguel, Christopher, and Jennifer. He was a devoted son of Gregorio González Bañuelos and Cirila Aguirre Pasillas, and a dear brother to Maria Concepción, Alberto, Valentin, and Mateo. Cruz was a cherished friend to many. He will be remembered as a hardworking, multi-skilled tradesman and self-taught mechanic, with a deep love for animal caretaking and a generous heart.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Thursday, prayers 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Alexis Roman Catholic Church in Bensenville, Illinois. Mass 11:30 am. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
