Elizabeth Bonnie Schmit (nee Cervak) passed away on August 15, 2026, at age 95. She was the loving mother of Peter (Cheryl), Donna (James) Puntney, and Christopher (Crystal) Schmit; cherished grandmother of Peter Jr., Matthew, Megan, Jessica, and Benjamin; and fond sister of Erna Goluzska and the late Jerry A. Cervak and Dolores Decker.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, at the southwest corner of Roosevelt and Mannheim Roads in Hillside/Westchester. Prayers will begin Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Domitilla Church. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
