Erica Jean Franklin, affectionately known as Pooh-Bear, was born on February 25, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois, to Angela Billyboy and Rickey Franklin.

A proud graduate of South Shore High School, Class of 1998, Erica went on to pursue her passions through hard work and creativity. She was a gifted entrepreneur and a talented hair braider who loved using her hands to help others feel beautiful and confident.

Erica's greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. Her world revolved around her three beloved daughters. She poured her heart into raising them, teaching by example the values of love, strength, and perseverance.

In 2016, Erica met the love of her life and soulmate, Timothy Stokes, who precedes her in the afterlife. Together, they shared a deep bond filled with laughter, joy, and unwavering devotion.

Erica will be remembered for her radiant smile, generous spirit, and her ability to light up any room she entered. She had a special way of making everyone feel seen, loved, and valued. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and love will continue to live on through her children, her family, and all who were blessed to know her.

Erica leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Ashlee, Bryanna (James), and Jala; her parents, Angela (Kelvin) and Rickey; her grandchildren, Mikayla, Journi, Jayden and her unborn grandson; her sister Charity; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Erica's life was a beautiful reflection of love, resilience, and compassion. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
