Obituary

Gaetano Antonio "Gus" Ranieri, age 94, passed away peacefully on november 18, 2020. Gus was born on May 20, 1926 in Chicago, IL., graduated from Crane High School and served in the U.S. Navy in the south pacific during WWII. Gus married his wife of 72 years Julia on November 13, 1948. He is survived by his wife Julia; five children: Linda (Sue) Ranieri, Diana (Gary) Gray, Julie (Roberto) Ranieri, Chris (Donna) & John (Christine) Ranieri; ten grandchildren: Garrett, Keith, Bryan, Christine, Justin, Danielle, Michael, Joseph, Maria & Nicole; six great-grandchildren; sisters Anita (George) Amanda & Marilyn Ranieri. Gus was a successful business man, a plumbing contractor, a custom home builder and an investor in the stock market. He enjoyed playing golf, square dancing, family dinners, spirited debates and a martini on the rocks. Every summer he always found time to take his family on vacation, creating memories that we will cherish forever.  Committal service November 21, 2020 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Entombment to follow.
