Reverend Henry Bass Jr.

Henry Bass Jr. was born in Bolivar County Mississippi on December 5th, 1936 to the union of Henry Bass Sr. and Laflora Bass (both parents preceded him in death). Lil Henry was the middle child of five children: Estella, RV, Bernard, and Oliver. (both Bernard and RV preceded him in death). Lil Henry was raised in Mound Bayou, Mississippi where he met, and married his first wife Hattie Bass on June 6th, 1957: from their union came three children, Dorothy Jean Gipson, Jesse Bass Sr., and Feberstrine Bass. (Hattie, Dorothy Jean, and Jesse Sr. all preceded him in death). As fate would have it Hattie and Henry separated in 1986, and Lil Henry married Alberta Bass in Spring of 1987. (Alberta preceded him in death). Lil Henry found a spiritual friend and companion in Lillie Hopkins Summer of 2012. Lillie protected, loved, and cared for Henry until God called him home on June 5th, 2021 at 6:29PM.

Henry Bass Jr. gave his life to God, and started his spiritual journey in Fall of 1960, where he began his ministry at Open Door Baptist Church. He later embarked on a more personal spiritual commitment by becoming a FreeMason in 1982. Henry's background, and history in ministry spanned over forty years. He was an active minister, as well as a brother of the FreeMasons at the time of his sunset.

Lil Henry leaves to cherish, one daughter Feberstrine Bass, one brother Oliver Bass, and one sister Estella Jones. Ten grandchildren: Antoine, Jessena, Marvin, Tevela, Tempest, Hiedi, Melana, LeAaron, Jesse Jr., and Lekala. Three great-grandchildren Tanesha, Marvin III, and LeAri.

Henry also leaves to mourn a host of cherished family, friends, and acquaintances.
