Irene Marie
Kaminski
July 16, 1933 – January 15, 2021
Irene M. Kaminski (née Lewis), beloved wife of the late Michael; loving and proud mother of Kathleen (Wayne) Moore, Theresa Kaminski (Charles Clark), John (Mary Kay), & Tim (Kris) Kaminski; devoted grandmother of 13; great grandmother of 5; fond sister of the late George Lewis and sister-in-law of Dolores Lewis; fun aunt of 4.
Irene grew up in Berwyn, Illinois, ran with the Euclid Avenue girls, and graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1951. While employed as an assistant pharmacist at Phillips Drugstore, she met army veteran Mike Kaminski. They married in 1956, settled in Broadview, and raised four children. Irene was a long-time parishioner of Mater Christi Church in North Riverside. For many years she was an active member of the Komarek School PTA. Always civic minded, she served for decades as an election judge. In order, Irene loved her family and friends, the Chicago Cubs, and a good story (especially if she was telling it). Despite a series of illnesses over the past few years, Irene remained independent, resolute, and hopeful. Her final goal was to outlast 2020, which she did.
