James Edward, affectionately known as "Eddie" was born September 16, 1961 in Chicago, IL. His parents Willie Mae Bingham, James Edward Long and sister Hallie preceded him in death. Eddie was the 5th child, in a home with 5 sisters. He graduated from David G. Farragut High School, and attended college in Chicago, Illinois.Eddie accepted Christ at an early age at Greater St. Paul A.M.E Church, Chicago, Illinois where he served as a member of the Usher Board.
Eddie worked several jobs as a custodian, and his interest in custodial work prompted him to influence his family to start/own a commercial and residential cleaning business; Total Impact Cleaning . He worked in the cleaning business until the fall of 2021 when his health failed.
His comical phrase "Who Told You" will be remembered by all who knew him.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory 8 siblings: Nadine, Naomi, Jo Ann, Carole, Darlene, Monthe, Lori, Rodney (Margie). Two long term friends whom he recognized as his brother and sister, Griff, and Sandra, 2 God sons, James Jr. and Deavin, Uncle Alonzo (Aunt Aleta), Uncle Paul and Aunt Bernice, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will truly miss him.
Visitation Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11:00 am until time of service 11:30 am at Broadview Wesleyan Church, 2218 S. 18th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.
