Janet Lorraine Hopkins Born on April 9th, 1944 to Zenobia and Sylvester Jackson (which proceeded in death). Born in Grand Island Nebraska, grew up in  Omaha Nebraska, Graduate from Central High School and received a Associate and Bachelor degrees. She moved to Chicago, Illinois worked at Standard oil until the company moved from Chicago. She pursed a career at United States Postal Service, which she retired from after 30 years of services. Retired to Las Vegas Nevada in 2004.

She leaves behind Daughter Brenda Coleman, Son in law Lynn Coleman, son's Tracy and Jeffery Hopkins; Grandsons, Arion and Ellery Coleman, Jeffery Jr. and Tarevis Hopkins; Granddaughters, Tamoya and Zenobia Hopkins; Great grandchildren Derion, Sophia, Aubrey, Jade and Cassius; Sisters Sarah, Rita and Holly Jackson; Sister in law Tregena Harris and a host of nieces & nephews. She was proceeded in death by Sisters Linda Jackson and Judith Keith. Janet was a very giving person. Very independent and a go getter. If she wanted it, she found a way no matter what.

Visitation Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 2pm-4pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Interment Monday, February 15, 2021 at Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside
