Joann Wells departed this life peacefully on April 6, 2025, surrounded by her family and love. She was preceded in death by her parents Martha and William Murray, her husband Gregory Wells, her sister Clency Murray and brothers Willam Earl and Michael Murray.

She leaves to celebrate her memory her two sons, Gregory Wells and Elkins Wells Sr.; six grandchildren, Elkin Lamar Wells Jr., Lamar Angel Wells, Zyier Sincere Wells, Rashaad Lee Wells, A'monte Gregory Wells, and A'mari Lee Wells; her siblings, Linda Murdock (Calvin), Debra Murray, Stephanie Murray, Nathan Murray, Charles Murray, Kevin Steve Murray, and Keith Murray. A host of nieces and nephews including Denise Pierce, Jerome Murray, Bianca Perrin, Mike Murray, Dasia Newman, Rachael Murdock, Erica Nellum, William Nellum, Eric Nellum, Nathaniel Plain, Kevin Steve Murray Jr., and many others who held a special place in her heart.

Her legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the strength we carry, and the love we share.

Visitation Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside.
