Jose Guadalupe Arevalo, age 83, of Berwyn, Illinois. Jose was born in Aramberri,
Nuevo Leon, Mexico. As much as he loved Mexico, wanting a better life, he
travels to Chicago for better work opportunities. He worked for numerous
factories. He was a trucker in Mexico which led to his passion for automobiles of
all kinds. He decided to become a mechanic. He was self-employed in his old
neighborhood of 23rd & Homan and mentored any young man who wanted to
learn the trade. Having a generous heart and compassion for people, he would
give those struggling a helping hand. You could stop by his home, and he made
sure you did not leave hungry. He enjoyed everyone's company. He had a great
sense of humor and enjoyed parties. He spent time with his family. He loved to
take his family, especially his grandchildren, to McDonalds, or Steak 'n Egger for
breakfast or out for seafood. Occasionally, a nice trip to the casino would be
enjoyed or a quick stop to the store for a lottery ticket if he felt lucky. He instilled
the importance of a good work ethic and the importance of a good education for
his grandchildren. Jose loved his family and friends very much. He was a life
companion, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & great-great-grandfather & a
friend to many.

México. Por mucho que amaba México, deseando una vida mejor, viaja a Chicago en busca de
mejores oportunidades laborales. Trabajo para numerosas fábricas. Fue camionero en México,
lo que derivó en su pasión por los automóviles de todo tipo. Decidió convertirse en mecánico.
Trabajaba por su cuenta propia en su antiguo vecindario de la 23 y avenida Homan y era
mentor de cualquier joven que quisiera aprender el oficio.
Teniendo un corazón generoso y compasión por la gente le tendia una mano a los que estaban
luchando. Podías pasar por su casa y se aseguraba de que no te quedarás con hambre.
Disfrutaba de la compañía de todos. Tenía un gran sentido del humor y disfrutaba de las fiestas.
Pasaba tiempo con su familia. Le encantaba llevar a su familia, especialmente a sus nietos a
McDonalds, o a Steak'nEggers para desayunar o salir a comer mariscos.
De vez en cuando disfrutaba de un agradable viaje al casino o de una rapida parada a la tienda
para comprar un billete de lotería si se sentía afortunado. Inculco la importancia de una buena
ética de trabajo y la importancia de una buena educación para sus nietos. José amaba mucho a
su familia y amigos. Fue compañero de vida, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, tatarabuelo y amigo de
muchos.
