Obituary

Jose "Joe" Guerrero, born on June 20, 1953, passed away on February 11, 2025 at the age of 71 surrounded by his loving family in Florida. Originally from Chicago, Joe moved to Florida and lived there for over 20 years where he became a true Floridian but never forgot his hometown of Chicago.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Delfina and Jose A. Guerrero Sr., and is survived by his son Jose. He was the loving brother of Connie, beloved uncle of Elyse and Cynthia, great uncle of Dahlia, Natalia, Iris, and Benicio.

Many knew Joe as a sports fanatic: he was a die-hard fan of the Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bears. He was Park Supervisor for many years at Dvorak Park with the Chicago Park District. Joe was a football coach at Benito Juarez High School from when the high school opened in 1979 through 1982 and he coached softball, baseball, and other sports around Chicago.

Joe became an avid fan of soccer in his later years. He was known to enjoy a few cigars with good friends. Joe loved Country Western Music as well as Tejano Music and loved to watch the bad boys of Cowboy Westerns and Mafia movies.

Joe was truly a great brother, father, uncle, and a great friend to many. Joe will be greatly missed.
