On June 13, 1961, Linda R. Compton was born to the late Emanuel Ingram and Rochelle Ingram at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.Linda attended Proviso West High School from 1976 and graduated in 1980. She worked as a candy striper in the hospital during high school where she developed an interest in patient wellbeing. She also became a member of DECA and developed an interest leadership and marketing. She played tennis and was runner-up in a beauty pageant. She had various interests but ultimately chose to work at Hines VA Hospital upon graduation. She studied in medical programs such as phlebotomy and radiology at Triton College and Malcolm X College. She also became a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician. From all of her many trades and accomplishments, her passion lied with being a patient liaison and medical records technician for veterans at the hospital. She continued her career later on at Lakeside VA Clinic where she later retired from after 18 years. She married her soul mate Ernie and remained together for 29 years until his death in 2018. She was a dedicated and loving mother to the three children she birthed and raised - Herman, Lindsey, and Hillary. She has a grandson Micah, whom she adored. She is also survived by her mother Rochelle Ingram, aunt Rosemary Douglas, many cousins, and 5 siblings Emanuel, Brenda, Michael (Sherrin), Robert, and Gregory Ingram.
