Lizze Sulekha
Bhooshi
March 6, 2025
Mrs. Lizze Sulekha Bhooshi was born on March 29, 1961 in Punganur (a town in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India) to Late Mrs. Joy Hemalatha Bhasker and Mr. John Bhasker Sumitriah. She learned to read and write in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. She grew up in India, and got her Bachelor of Science from the Government Arts College for Women, Krishnagiri in Tamilnadu.
She immigrated to the US and joined her family in Chicago, IL on February 11th, 1990. She then changed her first name from Sulekha to Lizze. On September 22nd, 1990, she married Mr. Moses Benjamin Bhooshi and later moved to Davie, FL. The couple were then blessed with two daughters: Sharon Ruth Joy on October 2, 1994, and Marlene Glory on March 22, 1997.
Lizze was dedicated to her family, especially her two daughters, Sharon and Marlene. She loved being involved in all of her children's activities, like church plays, school talent shows, Awana, etc. She was a stay-at-home mom for the first few years of their lives. After the kids started going to school full time, she also began working and became employed by Florida's Broward County Public Schools. She worked as a Teacher Assistant for approximately 20 years until retiring in 2023.
Lizze had a big heart and led her life in kindness and understanding. She wasn't afraid to crack good jokes, and often loved teasing her close friends and family, especially Sharon. She was also an amazing cook, and made delicious Indian dishes: her famous biryani, meatball curry, haleem, and more! She was an excellent singer and was always asked to share her sweet voice during special events. She loved going on nature walks and seeing God's amazing creation.
Lizze loved and cared for her girls very much. She was a prayer warrior for all and being a strong woman of God, she encouraged her girls to read their Bible and pray to God every day. She even made it a goal to write the entire Bible by hand, from Genesis to Revelation. She also had a great passion for gospel music, especially Telugu and Tamil Christian songs. In every church service, she always praised the Lord, raising both her hands in worship.
Lizze was called home to be with the Lord on March 6th, 2025. She left a beautiful legacy in all of our hearts and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Moses, and her two daughters, Sharon and Marlene. She leaves behind her six siblings and in-laws whom she loved deeply: Mr. and Mrs. Kishore Bhasker, Mrs. and Mr. Shobha Neetipudi, Mr. Kumar Bhasker, Mr. and Mrs. Jayawanth Bhasker, Mrs. and Mr. Rekha Rajendran, and Mrs. and Mr. Swarupa Darsipudi. She is also survived by her countless nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and nieces, whom she loved and cared for with her whole heart.
