November 28, 1949 – January 2, 2026
Maude Alice Whitaker was born November 28, 1949, in Lake Village, Arkansas to the union of John and Alma Whitaker, who preceded her in death. Maude was the only daughter of five children. Her brothers: Robert Johnson, George Whitaker, Ronnie Whitaker (who preceded her in death) and Clyde Whitaker. Her son, Terrence Mitchell and Sister-in-Love, Thelma Richardson (Whitaker) preceded her in death.
Maude grew up with many challenges, but overcame them all, including being a Breast Cancer Survivor. Maude spent much time with the love of her life, Deiots James.
Maude joined New Mt Moriah MB Church located in Chicago, Illinois where she served on the Usher Board. Maude enjoyed being a member of the church and was a dedicated member, she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyous personality as an Usher. Maude also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and watching her favorite television shows with her nice, cold glass of Pepsi and some hot, tasty Fried Chicken. Maude was a jazzy little lady and anyone that ever had the pleasure of being in her presence, would enjoy a good laugh and conversation.
Maude is survived by the love of her life: Deiots James, Children: Mary Hobbs, Jewell Hobbs; Daughter-in-law, Erica Mitchell; Brother: Clyde Whitaker; Grandchildren: Leketa Hobbs, Javon Naylor, Arianna Williams, Symone Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Aniya Garner, and Aaliyah Calhoun. Great Grandchildren: Trea Gaines, Javon Naylor Jr., Javeon Naylor, and Dylan Abel. Along with a host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Bonus Family.
