Olen "Ray" Gilbert, of Melrose Park, born in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Oscar & Nancy (nee Martin) Gilbert. Devoted husband of Kathy (nee Kubik); loving father of Eric & Aaron; treasured grandpa of Gianna & Amelia; dear brother of the late Robert "Eugene" (Betty) & Ralph (Ivy Jo) Gilbert, fond brother-in-law of Barbara (Ray) Donnelly, Debbie Duffy & Joe Kubik (Chrissy Mottl); adored uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. Ray will be missed by his cherished dog Peewee who never left his side.

Ray had many clients, who became fast friends, through his Ray's Delivery Service Company which he had for over 30 years. He  drew people in with his personality and his sense of humor. They enjoyed seeing him pull up with his truck and his visit made their day.

Ray was a Army veteran and was a member of the Franklin Park VFW.

Visitation Friday, March 4, 2022, 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Prayers Saturday 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St John Vianney Church for a 9:45 a.m. mass. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
