Paul George Bunyon, 79, transitioned March 25, 2022. Big Paul was born as George Mullis, in Monroe, North Carolina to Chonce and Ercel Mullis. He was one of ten children. In 1969 he settled in Addison, Illinois. He legally changed his name after retiring as a professional Basketball player, playing for the Washington Generals. He was a sparring partner for Muhammad Ali and the founder of Paul Bunyon Tree & Weed Services.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved companion Dolores R. Pastel, parents Chonce and Ercel; and siblings Roy, Lela, James, Edith, Buren, and Wayne. He leaves to cherish his memories, sons Kevin, William, Timothy, and Wayne (Teresa) Mullis; step-sons Kenneth (Patricia), and Kevin (Andrea) Pastel; grandchildren Thaddeus, Christina, Selena Ann, Christian, Charlese, Cameron, and Gia; great grandchildren Matic, Carmelo and Noah; and siblings Chonce Jr.,  Hazelene, and Hubert.
