Peggy Ann Pleasant Taylor, was born on June 27,1951, to Marie Byrd Washington and Jethro Pleasant, in Winnsboro, LA. Peggy Ann accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized by the late Rev. D. W. Allen at St. John Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA. ​

After graduating from Franklin Parish Training School in 1969, Peggy moved to Chicago, IL. Peggy attended Malcolm X College, Triton College, and Real Estate School where she pursued her dream career. On March 20, 1983, Peggy officially became a member of Broadview Missionary Baptist Church and served on several committees until her passing. She answered God's call on April 16, 2021. ​

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Marie Byrd Washington, brothers William Don Washington, Ronnie Dale Washington, James Pleasant, and stepdaughter Shelia Gray. ​

Peggy leaves to cherish her memories her father Jethro Pleasant of Winnsboro, LA, husband of 39 years Grammer Lee Taylor, Daughter; Astrid Dawn Taylor (Jermain), Stepchildren; Jacqueline Hardy (Jessie) of Monroe, LA., Grammer Tyrone Taylor (Jewel) of Lebanon, TN, Tara Yvette Albritton (Keith) of Springfield, IL, Aunts; Gennie Byrd of Atlanta, GA, Drucilla Barnes of San Jose, CA, and Janie Pleasant of Monroe, LA, Special niece; Keneshia Boley (Michael) of Winnsboro, LA, 7 Sisters-in-law, 2 Brothers-in- law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and longtime friends.  Also, the Class of 1969.

Visitation Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 3pm to 9pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Funeral service, Monday 10am at the funeral home. Interment Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside, IL. For funeral information please call 800-562-0082.
