Randle D.
Douglas
June 12, 1953 – February 3, 2024
Randle D. Douglas was born June 12, 1953, to Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Douglas Sr. and Corinthia Douglas at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was the fourth of six children.
Randy, as he was affectionately known confessed a hope in Christ and was a member of Christian Unity (Greater Rock) Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father, the Late Rev. Dr. T.A. Douglas.
Randy was born with Autism, but he was gifted in many ways. He was very spiritual, always prayed and talked about his love for God, and knew God had his hands on him!
Randy also had a great love for music and was the family disc jockey. Randy could not read but could distinctly identify the artist on record labels and even when the labels were the same color on wax records which were called 45's back in the day, Randy always knew one artist from another and what the name of the song was in any genre of music.
This was always so amazing to friends and neighbors visiting our family as Randy played music. Randy had a very gracious and thankful spirit, always saying "Thank You" for anything you did for him great or small. Randy loved people and never met any strangers. Randy was crafty with his hands and worked in a wood workshop for many years building and putting things together and he loved it! Randy was also very domestic, at home with his family and in his group home of residence, Randy loved assisting with folding laundry, taking out garbage, and helping with groceries and would get a little testy if you did not let him help!
As the years went by, Randy developed health challenges. He had renal kidney failure that led him to a road of dialysis. Randy always remained positive and prayerful and even with his health declining, he was independent, trying to help himself, and still trying to help others!
Randy transitioned from Earth into eternity on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Bella Terra Rehabilitation Center. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith! Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Carl F. Douglas.
He leaves to cherish fond memories Four siblings: Kenneth C. Douglas of Santa Monica CA, Janis L. Douglas-McGee, Jacqueline D. Douglas, and Thomas A. Douglas Jr. Three Aunts: Carrol Tillman, Quency Hampton, and Bobbie A. Tillman-Anderson—a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
