Obituary

Rogelio Rodriguez was born to the late Adelina L. and Leopoldo Rodriguez in Laredo, Texas on March 30, 1936. In 1959 he moved to Chicago, IL the neighborhood of Little Village, where he settled to raise his family. During these years and forever more, Rogelio was a man not only loved but respected by his family and community which he considered one in the same. He wore many hats from working at Neo Products for 35 years to becoming an entrepreneur and being quite the innovator by operating a food truck; Teaching his children the true definition of a hard worker. Rogelio regularly attended both St. Ludmilla and St. Pius Church with his children educating them the word of God.

Rogelio… Above all was the rare combination of someone who lived life joyously and someone who had a firm understanding of the importance of life - commitment; His commitment to not only creating a tremendous family but a unified one.

Finally after many years, Rogelio would later retire to San Antonio, Texas where he lived for 18 more beautiful years before being called home to Heaven. Everyone who remembers him is asked to live life with faith to the fullest and to live it amongst family for what better way to do so. "Echale Ganas!" is what he would always say.

Survivor s i nclude his wife, Martha Rodriguez; his fifteen children, Martin, Beatriz (Michael), Maria (Martin), Linda (George), Leticia, Elsa, Rogelio Jr., Juana, Jesse, Joey (Jennifer), Leopoldo, Abraham, Roger, Adelina (Aldo), and Samantha - along with 37 grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Yolanda, Maria Elena, Jose (Pepe), and the late Roberto Rodriguez.

Although many… Rogelio's love never strayed far from the hearts of each and every member of his family. Rogelio was the true embodiment of honor and forever will be, even in death.
