Obituary

Rosemary Fowlkes was born April 15,1952 in Mound Bayou, MS to the late Luchers and Pearlie Mae Jenkins. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age with the help of her mother Pearl and her grandmother Armelia White.  She was the youngest of 5 children and the only girl.  Rose's family moved to Chicago at an early age.

Rose attended Cooley High and Proviso East High School where she met many of her lifetime friends and adopted family.  After high school, Rose married John Anthony Gibson (Divorced).  Rose then married the late William T. Fowlkes in Memphis, TN. Ever the traveller, Rose moved to West Palm Beach, Florida upon her late husband's death, where she worked for the Palm Beach Sheriff's office until her retirement in 2013. Upon returning to Maywood, IL, Rose spent her time caring for her late brother Luchers Jenkins, Jr., her late mother Pearlie Mae Voorhees, and her brother John. D. Jenkins.

Rose loved spending time with family and friends. She was a selfless person who put others needs before her own.  She always helped others, especially if she considered you ''family''.  She was hearth and home for her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, keeping the family together. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Living Word Christian Church participating in prayer group and studying the word of God. She was both a believer and a practitioner. Rose enjoyed people, food, travelling, family and finding great bargains.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Pearl (Edward) and Luchers, her husband William, and (3) brothers, Tony, Thurmond, and Luchers.

Rose leaves to cherish her memory, her children LeShannon Harris (Wylie), Travis Rule, stepson John Gibson, grandchildren, Diamond Rule-Lockett, Travis Rule Jr., Jacobi Harris (Tasia), and Kylie Harris, her brother John D.
