Ruth Elizabeth Radnitzer

November 15th, 1926- September 29th, 2024

Ruth Radnitzer passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on September 29th, 2024. She was a devoted mother to three sons, a loving grandmother to six and a proud great-grandmother of six. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, and her eldest son, Keith.

For 35 years, Ruth worked as a lunchroom supervisor at Whittier School, where she was a beloved face to students and staff alike. She frequently volunteered at the Whittier School Cultural fair where she was proud to share her Swedish heritage. She was a member of Austin Covenant Church and Villa Park Covenant church.

Ruth enjoyed making handmade crafts of plastic canvas and crocheted hot pads which she delighted in gifting to all those around her.  Family and friends could count on receiving a card from her for every special occasion, especially one wishing them a speedy recovery when they were ill.

Visitation/Funeral Service: Join us on Friday, October 25th from 10:30- 11:45 am at Hursen Funeral Home (4001 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois).

Burial Service- A Burial service will be held on Friday, October 25th at 12 noon directly behind the funeral home at the Glen Oaks Cemetery (4301 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois).
