Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many, SoNui Helen Kwok Wong (74) was born in Hong Kong to Po Kwok and Fung Lui on June 11, 1949. She went home with the Lord on June 25, 2023, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

After graduating from grade school, she started helping to put food on the table by helping at her parents' small home business. Helen was the fourth of 6 cherished brothers and sisters. Helen met her beloved husband Woon Lam Wong during a hiking trip, and they wed in 1971. They had an amazing journey together for 52 years and have two beautiful children.

Helen was always cheerful and hard-working. She worked full-time while taking care of her family all by herself.  She retired in 2009 and started taking care of her grandson. She loved hiking and traveling. She recently immigrated to Chicago, IL, US to be reunited with her daughter.

In 2017, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and got baptized on May 31, 2023.

Helen is survived by her husband, daughter Maureen and son Eric (Celia), grandson Anson, brother Chiu (Ting Kam Yuen), sister Noi Ha (Ho Yin Leung), brother Chiu Kong (Siu Lan To), nieces and nephews Mandy (Ming Sang), Candy (Clifford), Colin, Winnie (Eddie), Bernie (Cindia) and Karin. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 2nd, 2023, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and the funeral will be on Monday July 3rd, 2023, at Hursen Funeral Home and Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside.
