Obituary

Stanislaw "Stanley" Kuntaras, 100 years old, of Brookfield, formerly of Cicero. Stanley was born in Strzelczyno, Poland. At the outbreak of WWII, Stanley, 18, was arrested and sentenced to endure the hardships of forced labor in a Siberian Camp. When released, he made his way through many countries before joining the Polish Army. Turn of events gave him the opportunity to become a LT. Pilot in the Polish Air Force (PAF) and was stationed in England. There he met his wife, Zofia, of 70 years. Together they emigrated to the U.S., raising their five children in the Chicago suburbs. Stanley was always active in the Polish Community as a PAF Veteran, supporter of the Polish Scouts and helped found a Polish School in Cicero. He was a talented musician having played in an orchestra, he was an accomplished carpenter. Stanley enjoyed a good laugh, his family, and friends. Our family is forever grateful for all the ways he enriched our lives. Calujemy mocno, zawsze znami bedziesz w pamieci I sercach.
