Tametha "Tam" Kecia Johnson, 51, of Chicago, IL, passed away on August 7, 2023, in Westchester, IL. She was born on September 2, 1971, in Chicago, IL. Tametha was a caring, kind, and selfless individual, always thinking of others. Her generosity and hardworking nature were evident in everything she did. She possessed a beauty that radiated from within and touched the lives of those around her.
Tametha obtained an associate degree in early childhood development at Harold Washington City College in Chicago, IL. She also obtained an associate degree in ophthalmic technology at Triton College in River Grove, IL. Tametha was a dedicated ophthalmic technician at University of Chicago, where she made a significant impact in the field. She used her skills and knowledge to improve the vision and quality of life for countless individuals. Her passion for her work was evident in the care and compassion she showed to her patients.
In her free time, Tametha enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and engaging in outdoor activities. She found solace in walking in the park, connecting with nature, and embracing the simple joys of life.
Tametha is survived by her loving sons, Evan Hall and Ean Hall. She is also survived by her mother, Sadie Johnson, her sister, Machelle Burns, her brother, Hubert Johnson, her nieces and nephews, Daphne Stanton, James Ryan Palmer, Menya Burns, Marissa Bramlett, and Marlon Bramlett, and a host of grandnieces/nephews.
Tametha was preceded in death by her lifelong companion Edward Hall, her father, Hubert Johnson, her brother, Anthony Johnson, and her sister, Deborah Stanton. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Tametha Johnson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her caring nature, kind spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends will forever be cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
A visitation will be held on August 17, 2023, at Hursen Funeral Home, located at 4001 W Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, IL 60162, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow immediately after the visitation, with burial to follow.
