Virginia L. Wajda, longtime resident of Hillside and parishioner of St Domitilla Church, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. She was born December 19, 1928, in Chicago, daughter of the late Joseph VanCura and Marie Falada VanCura. She is reunited with her loving husband of 70 years Frank Wajda. She was loving mother of Russ (Mary), Michael (Nina), Karyn (John) Romano and the late Don Wajda; dear grandmother of Kate, and Brian Wajda, Lauren (Mitch) Allman, Kaelyn (Addam) Willis, Joseph Wajda & Grace Romano; proud great grandmother of Adrian & Koi. She is preceded in death by her bothers James and Joseph "Buddy" VanCura and sisters Georgiana Dovich and Margie VanCura. Fond sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.

Visitation Friday, October 13, 2023  3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside/Westchester. Prayers from the funeral home Saturday 9:00 a.m. to St Domitilla Church, Hillside. Mass 10:00 a.m. Private Internment. Donations can be made in her name to St Domitilla Church.
