Obituary

Willie Mae Jones was born to Willie and Idella Jacobs on December 27, 1950 in Greenville, MS. Willie Mae moved to Chicago, IL at an early age. Willie Mae graduated from Lucy Flowers H.S. Willie Mae married Roosevelt Evans in August 1969 she received her certification as a hair stylist while working at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Customer Service Claims Representative where she later resigned and started her own non- for- profit business Peoples DASC

Willie Mae accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was well known for her Missionary Work as a serving member of First Baptist Congregational Church under Pastor Arthur D. Griffin and later baptize again under Pastor Gregory Daggett of Joy of Fellowship MB Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and cooking soul food while spending time with family and friends.

Willie Mae was the oldest of 8 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Evans 2 children Arnita Evansand, Jean (Quentin Palmore); sisters Geraldine Roberts, Luvinia Jacobs, Deloris Jacobs, Shirley Jacobs, Antonia Jacobs, L.C. (Yvonne Evans) John & Bernice Richardson preceded in death Michael Evans. She is survived by her Sister Doris Green and Brother James Jacobs, Uncle Willie Little, Sister in law Bonnie (Archie Gathright preceded in death), Floretta (Elton Evans preceded in death), Jericka Thomas; Brother in law Adolph (Mary William preceded in death), Willie (Shelia Evans) ;Children Rosetta Applewhite, Helen (Anthony Pritchett), Samantha(Henry Haymer), Roosevelt Evans Jr, Antonio (Shamaria Stevens) Bobby (Meghan Sharp), Lavinia Robertson, Philisha York, Idella Green, Casey (Shanda Jacobs), Vanita (Sheriah Jacobs) Special friends/ sister Audrey Williams & brother Victor Jordan of Chicago host of nieces nephews grand children and great grand children.
